Janice Mae Bishop, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, entered her heavenly home on February 27, 2026, at the age of 69.
Janice was born on September 4, 1956, in Vicksburg, MS, one of two siblings. She attended Culkin Elementary School in Vicksburg, and graduated from Warren Central High School in Vicksburg, MS.
Janice was a beloved wife to Jim Bishop. Janice was baptized at the Church of Christ by Brother Willie Nettles. She's professionally held many positions with the Vicksburg Warren School District. She carried a deep love and respect for family and friends and found happiness in the simple things in life like watching her birds, spending time with her family and adored her grandkids. She also loved watching nascar, football, and enjoyed planting and watching her flowers grow.
Janice is preceded in death by her parents Alice Mae Hancock and James Elwood "Ram Rod" Hancock; maternal grandparents Addie Marion Worthy Pettway and Leroy Glenwood Pettway; paternal grandparents Nettie Warnock and Samuel Hancock; nephew Timothy Hancock and many other numerous family and friends.
Janice is lovingly survived by her husband of 19 years, Jim Bishop, daughter Jana Hancock, son James Dusty Wipperling (Deidra), her first husband Craig Wipperling, brother James Elwood Hancock (Carmen), sister Jean Alice Hancock (James), grandchildren Madison Wade, Mayson Wade, Corbyn James Wipperling, Evelynn Grace Wipperling, Abigail Bishop, and Chloe Bishop, great-grandchild Kameron Craig, nieces Carley and Kayla Hancock.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at 3:00 P.M. at Glenwood Funeral Home with Bro. Willie Nettles officiating. A visitation will be Tuesday, from 1:00 P.M. till the hour of the service. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Gardens Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Rodney Porter, Mayson Wade, Chase Katzenmeyer, Nick Stuart, John Elfer, and Dennis Lewis. Honorary Pallbearers will be Craig Wipperling, Philip Brown, Drew Clempt, Herman Thomas, and Micah Bishop.
