Katherine Cox Tingle
December 17, 1926 - September 29, 2017

Funeral services for Katherine Cox Tingle, 90, will be held at 2:00pm on Monday, October 2 at Rolling Fork United Methodist Church. Visitation will be on Sunday, October 1 from 3pm until 5pm.
Mrs. Tingle of Rolling Fork, Mississippi passed away on Friday, September 29, 2017 at Montgomery Gardens Assisted Living in Starkville, Mississippi. She was a long time member of the Rolling Fork United Methodist Church where she served in many capacities throughout the years. She was a member of the Betsy Love Allen Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Rolling Fork Garden Club. Mrs. Tingle was a graduate of East Central Junior College and Mississippi State College for Women
Mrs. Tingle opened the Rolling Fork Flower and Gift Shop in 1953 and operated that business until 2009. It was truly a joy to her to serve those in her community during special occasions—whether it be a wedding, the birth of a child, a birthday, a holiday, Sunday church flowers—or a funeral—she was a part of it in her small way. She graced many with beautiful flowers in their happiest and saddest times.
Mrs. Tingle was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lester Cox of Sandown Community, Philadelphia, Mississippi; her husband, Mr. Charles William Tingle of Rolling Fork. She is survived by her only daughter, Kay Tingle Black and son-in-law, Ern, of Rolling Fork; 2 Granddaughters, Anna Katherine Martin (Andrew) and Mariah Clark (Doug) all of Starkville; 4 great-grandchildren, Laura Guyton and Maggie Martin and Rives and Charlie Clark: a Brother, Tom Wallace Cox (Shirley) Philadelphia, MS; brother-in law, Melvin Tingle (Betty Sue) of Decatur, Mississippi, Sister-in-law, Honor Mae Tingle (R. C.) of Jackson and a host of nieces and nephews.
Memorial donations may be made to Rolling Fork United Methodist Church.
