Ruel Douglas High

Ruel Douglas High died Friday, August 29, 2014 at his home in Greenville. He was 84.
Born in Seminary, MS, Mr. High retired in 1971 from the U.S. Air Force and went to work for the Mississippi Forestry Commission, retiring in 1989. He was an active member of his church where he was a deacon and sang in the choir. He was a devoted father and grandfather. Mr. High was a hard worker and made sure his family was taken care of. He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Nell High and a so, James Ruel High.
Survivors include two daughters, Cathy Bailey and Karen "Cricket" Lawson, both of Greenville, MS; two sisters, Made Gibbons of Dallas, TX and Helen Parker of Meridian, MS; also three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday September 2, 2014 at Sharon Chapel Assembly of God with Brother Steve Burton, Brother Jim Edwards, and Brother Jimmy McClendon officiating with burial following at County Line Cemetery in Glen Allen, MS. Visitation will be 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Monday September 1, 2014 at Glenwood Funeral Home in Rolling Fork, MS.
Pallbearers will be Joseph High, Rob Penson, Robert Honea, Shane Creel, Elmer Graddie, and Seymore Palmatree.
