Martha Louise (Sister) Netterville Keyes
In the early morning hours of Sunday, August 23, 2015, Sister returned to be with her heavenly father at Franklin Medical Center in Winnsboro, Louisiana. She was 77 years old. Sister was born in Shreveport, Louisiana on July 24, 1938. She was the second child and the first daughter to Wenonah and W.B. Netterville, who raised her in Newellton. Shortly after college, Sister moved to Pascagoula, Mississippi where she raised two daughters, Martha and Jane. In the mid 1990's, she reconnected with her high school sweetheart, Delton Keyes, and returned to Tensas Parish. She was a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church of Newellton and an avid gardener. She was well known in the community for her flannel throw blankets which she generously gave to family, friends, and strangers. Sister is preceded in death by her parents, Wenonah and W.B. Netterville, brother, Charles Netterville, and husband, Delton Keyes. She is survived by her two daughters: Martha (Darren) Lowe and Jane (Darryl) Thibodeaux; six grandchildren, Jennifer (John) Dearman, Clinton Lowe, Darrah Blankenship, Noah Lowe, Tyler Thibodeaux, and Kyle Thibodeaux, and three great grandchildren; James Dearman, Grey Dearman, and Olivia Blankenship, and three stepchildren. On August 28, at the First Baptist Church of Newellton, visitation will be held at 10:00 A.M.,services at 11:00 A.M., and graveside following.
