Thomas Russum

Thomas Russum, Sr. passed away on Monday, January 26, 2015 at Promise Hospital in Madison. He was 92.
Born on August 9, 1922 to William Henry Russum and Nellie Humphrys Russum, he lived most of his life in Port Gibson. He was employed as a manager for Union Gas Company. We was a World War II veteran and retired from Army 412th Engineerís Command. He was appointed by the governor to the Claiborne County Port Commission, served as Port Gibson City Councilman/Alderman for 36 years, and was a member of the Claiborne County Hospital Board of Trustees, the Claiborne County Jury selection committee, Lionís Club, and the Masonic Lodge. He was a member of Port Gibson Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Gertye Russum; son, Tommy Russum, Jr.; daughters, Linda Strong (Jeff) and Judy Harbour (Jody); and five grandchildren, Jeff Mac Strong (Kimberly), Blake Strong, Lexie Agan (Payton), Lee Harbour, and Chandler Harbour.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, January 28 at Wintergreen Cemetery with William May officiating.
Pallbearers will be Jeff Mac Strong, Blake Strong, Lee Harbour, Chandler Harbour, and Payton Agan.
Memorials may be made to the Port Gibson Baptist Church.
